i know carlie behind the veil.
you see the tweets - the iPhone belly photos. you see the zany video blogs - the wacky dance moves.
you see her strength. you see her flawless beauty. you see her resounding sensibility. you see what she wants you to see.
i see all that, too. but i also have the privilege of knowing carlie renee davis in between those things. i see it all. and i love it. i love her.
so, earlier this week, with the birth of our son just around the corner, i asked to photograph my wife. she accepted, and the following is what we created. behind the veil, i wanted to show the frail, the fragile, the porcelain... that is my bride and she is beautiful.
wow. that 4th image simply blows me away. one of my favourite posts ever by your gabriel, and that's probably because you know your subject so well. i love this.

ReplyDeleteGabriel & Carlie - These photos are simply exquisite. I happened upon your website during my daily leisurely browsing of wedding photog websites.(I'm 43 years old and have been married for 19 years...so for no other reason than the fact that I love to look at unique wedding photography). I live in Michigan and am so far removed from your beautiful California home, but after spending 2 hours on your website and blog looking at all of your stunning photos and sweet videos, I feel like I want to give you both a BIG hug!!! (I hope you don't think that's creepy!)
ReplyDeleteNot only have I enjoyed your talent as artists, but I have been smiling ear to ear at the sweetness of your love for each other and your love for God. You have been truly blessed with a gift and by the grace of God, you have been able to realize that and earn a living together with that gift.
May God continue to bless you both as you prepare for the birth of your son. I have no doubt that you will provide him a life of joy, laughter and happiness. :-)
